Invader is a French street artist born in Paris in 1969, whose real name is Franck Slama. He studied at the University of Paris and the Paris High School of Fine Arts. The name "Invader" is derived from the popular 1978 video game "Space Invader." In 1998, he began creating street art using pixelated mosaic tiles, drawing inspiration from popular culture. His work challenges tradition and symbolizes the invasion of digital information. His mosaics can be found on the walls of major cities worldwide, including the exterior of restaurants near the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the vicinity of the Musée d'Orsay. In March 2015, he sent his artwork "Space2" into the Columbus module of the International Space Station (ISS).
Invader's "invasions" have left their mark in more than 70 cities. His works have been exhibited worldwide, including at institutions such as the Children's Museum in Paris, the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation, the Vienna Museum Quarter, the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, the Daejeon Museum of Art in South Korea, the Musée de Montauban in France, the Istanbul Borusan Culture and Arts Center, the Mjelby Art Museum in Halmstad, Sweden, and the Lyon Museum of Contemporary Art in France.
